About AuditReady Carrier
AuditReady Carrier makes plain-English guides and record kits for brand-new US interstate motor carriers getting ready for the FMCSA New Entrant Safety Audit.
Why we exist
Every new carrier gets an 18-month new entrant period and a safety audit, usually in the first year. The rules are public, but they're spread across several parts of 49 CFR and many FMCSA pages. New owner-operators are also flooded with solicitations, some of them misleading. We wanted one honest, inexpensive place that explains what the audit checks and helps you organize the records, with every point cited so you can verify it yourself.
How we write
- Every requirement is cited to the section of 49 CFR it comes from, and checked against the current eCFR text.
- Where a point comes from an FMCSA web page or guidance rather than the regulation, we say so.
- Suggestions that are good practice but not legally required are labeled that way.
- Pages show when they were last updated. Current as of October 2026.
What we are not
We are an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by FMCSA or USDOT, we are not a law firm, and we don't file anything on your behalf. FMCSA does not charge for the safety audit. Our content is educational, not legal advice, and our kits don't guarantee passing an audit. Your FMCSA notice and the auditor's instructions always control.
